Lagardère Studios is restructuring its african subsidiary DIFFA

The expansion of the number of local, regional and international customers, enabled by the launch of DTT in numerous countries and the increasing power of OTT providers, corresponds with the strong growth of audiovisual production in Africa.

In order to respond to the expansion of the African audiovisual market and to the growing demand for quality content, DIFFA and Lagardère Studios Distribution (LSD) are consolidating their collaboration.

Within this framework, Emmanuelle Bouilhaguet has been appointed as Managing Director of DIFFA, to run in parallel with her role as Managing Director of LSD. This synergy will enable DIFFA to benefit from the existing brand awareness of LSD and from the knowledge and experience of its teams.

Lagardère Studios is therefore expanding its content offering in Africa with a catalog of close to 10,000 hours, to better serve all its operators.

Alain Modot, appointed as Vice-President of DIFFA, will continue with acquisitions, catalog development (films, series, animation and creative documentaries) and production support (seeking out opportunities for co-financing, pre-sales, minimum guarantees and co-production).

Christophe Thoral – President of Lagardère Studios: "Since its establishment in Africa in 2015, Lagardère Studios has been committed to supporting the production of African projects across the entire distribution chain with particular focus on the new generation of producers, both men and women, who are legitimately seeking recognition in the international program market. The consolidation of these two distribution structures will promote program circulation which is a major objective of Lagardère Studios.
